The Presence Medicine Approach for Aphasia Recovery

by Jindal Neurology, Inc.

The Presence Medicine Approach is a model of physician care for people with aphasia, centered on sustained, unhurried attention. Rooted in narrative medicine and the social model of disability, it recognizes that standard medical encounters often structurally exclude patients with communication disabilities.

By providing extended physician presence and communication accessibility, this approach supports patient-driven recovery and meaningful participation in life.
